Privacy Policy
Last updated 23 September 2026
This policy explains what Armon collects when you use the app or this website, why we collect it, who else processes it, and how to get rid of it. It covers the Armon mobile apps and learnarmon.com, both operated by Chateau Languages Inc. ("Armon", "we", "us").
What we collect
| What | Why we have it | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address and password | To create your account and let you sign back in on another device | Firebase Authentication. We never see your password; it is stored hashed by Google. |
| Your learning progress | To decide which drills you see next and when a topic comes back for review | Firestore, one record per language |
| Flashcards you save | So your saved words are there next time you open the app | Firestore |
| Notification preferences | To send the daily reminder you asked for, and to stop when you turn it off | On your device, and in your account record |
| Subscription status | To know whether your access is active | Firestore, set from the app store that took your payment |
| Technical logs | To find crashes and abuse. IP address, device model, operating system version, timestamps. | Firebase, retained on Google's standard schedule |
| Your email if you join the early access list | To tell you once when Armon opens | Firestore |
We do not collect your contacts, your location, your photos, your microphone, or anything from other apps. There is no advertising in Armon and no tracking for advertising.
Who else processes it
- Google (Firebase): authentication, database, hosting, and crash logs.
- Apple and Google Play: if you subscribe through an app store, they process the payment. We never see your card details.
- Stripe: if you subscribe on the website. Stripe processes the payment; we never see your card details.
- RevenueCat: reconciles subscription status across platforms so a subscription bought in one place works everywhere.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app, under Settings. Deleting removes your account record, your saved flashcards, and your learning progress for every language. It cannot be undone.
If you have already uninstalled the app, use the account deletion page, and we will delete it for you.
Some records survive deletion for a short period: Backups on their normal rotation, and payment records that Apple, Google, or Stripe are required to keep for tax and accounting.
How long we keep things
Account and learning data are kept for as long as your account exists. Technical logs are kept on Firebase's standard retention schedule. Early access emails are kept until you ask us to remove yours.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to , and we will do it.
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area
Our lawful bases are: contract, for the data needed to give you the course you signed up for; legitimate interests, for security logs and preventing abuse; and consent, for push notifications and the early access list, which you can withdraw at any time. You also have the right to object to processing, to request portability of your data, and to complain to your national data protection authority.
If you are in California
You have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, and to correct it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA.
Children
Armon is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
